"Hey Lay, can I wear your football jersey."

"No girl, I don't like you."

"Aww, don't be mean, Lay."

"Go girl."

He walked with some of his teammates as they walked home. Tiffanee Andrews the head cheerleader was always trying to get something out of him because she liked him. He thought she only liked him because he played all the positions in football, but center. He thought that position was gay. She walked up next to him and snatched his ball. He shrugged knowing that she just wanted him to chase her. She sighed throwing his ball on the ground and stomped towards her house which was in the other direction.

"She like you, you gone get cooties if you start liking her."

"I don't like no girls, they all stank and try to mess up my game calling my name."

"Cause they like you. My big brother told me if a girl like you a lot, she'll give you a kiss on the lips."

"Ew ain't no girl kissing my lips, but my Ma."

"Same cause girls got cooties."

They all laughed and tossed the ball back and forth until Lay had to go in the house. All friends secretly envied him cause he had the biggest house in the neighborhood. He didn't care because none of them matter to him.

He sat at the table with Maddy, Macy and Licour doing his homework. They sat at the table quiet as a mouse.

"What's wrong?"

"Mommy's at the hospital."

"Why?"

"Her tummy started hurting."

"Are we going to see her?"

"Daddy said later after we're done with our homework."

"Oh, okay."

He pulled out his homework and quickly went over it since he had already did most of it before football practice. Everyone finished around the same time and went into the game house and went swimming. Linda came in with tears in her eyes.

"What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing, where's Mommy?"

"Hospital cause her tummy hurt."

"Oh, where's Daddy?"

"On his way home."

"Okay."

He ducked under the water and went after Maddy. He grabbed her waist and pulled her down under. She screamed out as she kicked her feet and swam back to the top. He stood and laughed as she pouted.

"Maddy your butt looks like Mommy."

"So, you made me hurt my arm."

"I was just playing, big baby."

She hit the water his way and smiled as he charged for her. She swam away and turned to face him as he caught up with her. They pushed and rolled around under the water. She jumped up and onto his back. He sank down like he was drowning. Maddy began to cry hysterically as he continued to go to the bottom.

"What's wrong?"

"Shun.. Shun.. Is drowning."

QJ knew he was messing with her so he jumped to go along with him and grabbed him and threw him on the side of the pool. He hit his chest and Lay spit out water as if he had really drown. They both started laughing as Maddy stood looking over him. She became upset and walked out.

"Did you see her face?"

"That was too funny."

"She was all crying and shit. Nigga you better stop doing that though before something really happens and she can't tell the difference."

"Okay, Quez, I'll go apologize."

He stood up and went to look for Maddy. He found her in the family room staring at the family picture. He sat next to her and didn't say anything. She looked at him then back at the picture.

"Shun, do you not like me?"

"What? I love you, I just like messing with you cause you're dramatic and you remind me of Mommy."

He said staring at Nicki. Nicki and Maddy was his favorite girls. Nobody could mess with them without him wanting to fight. Maddy sat in his lap and hugged him.

"Do you ever think about old mommy."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Cause she never loved us like Mommy does."

"She was mean."

He laughed at her as he laid up against the sofa and fell asleep. They woke up to the sound of Nic's voice calling for them. She sounded like she was in a panic as they stirred up and raced to find her. She was all smiles as Maddy pouted cause Lay beat her. Nicki reached out to her and hugged her tight.

"Mommy, I missed you. Are you okay?"

"Yes, Shun, where were you guys?"

"In the family room."

"Shun, how was football practice?"

"Good, I don't get to play in our first home game though."

"Why not?"

"Tiffanee got me in trouble and coach said I'm out."

"And how did she do that?"

"I got a D on my pop quiz in my new advanced math class, but I got A in my class work and homework."

He looked pissed as he thought about Tiffanee and what she did. Nicki smirked as she held his face in her hands.

"It's okay baby. It's just one game."

"But it's the first one."

"Nic that's a big deal."

She rolled her eyes then walked over to the sofa and sat down. Lay looked over her hard as her face went blank.

"Mommy, what's wrong?"

"Nothing babe."

She sighed putting her face in her palms. She breathe in then threw up on the floor. He jumped back as SB rushed to her side and made sure she was done before walking her to the bedroom. Lay went and got the mop and soaked most of it up then took a towel and cleaned the rest.

"What's wrong with Mommy?"

"She is pregnant, duh."

Linda answered him before going back to her phone convo. He walked around the house to find Licour. He found him and his friends in his room playing his wii.

"Cour, did you know Mommy's pregnant?"

"Yeah, she just told us."

"Hm."

He left then made his way to his parents room to ask why they didn't tell them. He bust through the door. Nicki looked up at him from the trash bin in front of her. SB rubbed her back looking at him.

"Why didn't you tell me, you're pregnant?"

"Is that why you bust in here like that?"

"Kinda.. Yeah."

"And I was, I forgot."

"How could.."

Nicki held up her hand and threw up again. She looked much more sick than pregnant. Layshun shook his head and stared at them. He felt like they were hiding something. He stood staring as Nic grabbed the towel and wiped her mouth.

"I had been looking for you guys for thirty minutes, don't question me."

"Are you sick? You look bad."

"Shun, not right now."

"Son, we'll talk later just leave."

"Okay, I hope you get better."

She nodded as she laid down. He skipped down the hall and grabbed his ball then went outside.

Tiffanee stood on the sideline screaming Layshun's name and being extra. SB had convinced the coach to let him play in the first game, so here he was playing quarter back. He threw it to a Gary and got tackled to the ground. He laughed then stood up shaking it off and getting back in the game.

They were in the 4th Quarter and winning by eight points. He was stood near the end zone and waited for the ball to come his way. DJ threw the ball his way and reached out to grabbed it and caught it as he pushed the player next to him. He pushed another one and danced in the touch down zone. His team ran up to him and they cheered.

"If coach didn't let you play we would of lost."

"For real."

"Naw ya'll wouldn't cause we all good."

"Whoot Whoot!"

"Laaayyshun!"

"Here come yo giiiiirlfriend."

"She ain't my girlfriend."

He huffed as Tiffanee made her way over to him. She grabbed his arm and held tight to him as he walked over to the dap the other team's players.

"You always make us win, that's why I like you."

"I don't like you, so get off me."

"You will like me one day and you'll be my boyfriend."

"No I won't ever."

"Shun, who is this?"

He groaned as the smile on Nic's face grew wider. She sat on a folding chair in SB jacket. He smiled at how little she looked in his dad's jacket. I want. a girlfriend as pretty as mommy, who wants to wear my jacket, but not Tiffanee, she ugly. He thought yanking away from her.

"I'm Tiffanee."

"Oh, so you're Tiffanee."

"Lay talks about me?"

She asked gleefully looking at him as if that had made her whole year. He side eyed her and laughed at her dumb ways.

"Girl, don't think you all that cause you not, you just a girl."

"You still talked about me."

She smiled. Nicki couldn't help, but laugh and think it was cute. Layshun grabbed her hand and pulled her out the stadium.

"Mommy that's not funny."

"Shun, slow down."

"Sorry."

He said slowing down. Nicki looked around to find the car and spotted it parked with a bunch of girls around. Oh, no. Layshun thought as she stormed over to the car faster than lighting.

"Could you guys get off my car, I'm married."

"She does...."

"Bitch you heard him, don't fucking try me.. I'll kick yo ass up and down this fucking parking lot."

"My bad, I was just...."

"Naw bitch play with another bitch husband cause this one ain't the one!"

The lady backed away from the car as Layshun opened the door for his mom and waited for her to get in. She eyed the three groupies as she got in. Thank God, Mommy's pregnant.

"Great game, Shun."

"How long have those hoes been out here?"

"Nic, why is that..."

"Answer me."

"About twenty minutes."

She grabbed his phone and went through it. He pulled out the parking lot and turned on some music to ease the tension. Layshun sat in the back watching the TV and texting his friend on Nicki's phone.

"Shun, are you playing football in high School?"

"Yeah, if Mommy isn't going to cry about it."

"Hmm, I just don't want you getting hurt."

"I'm a boy. Not Maddy or Macy."

"So, you don't have to be them to be my baby."

He shook his head at how much she wanted to baby him. She looked back at him and blew him kisses. He blushed looking out the window. She's so embarrassing even in the car.
